TEAL-SORB BS Base & Alkaline Neutralizing Absorbent Powder is specially designed and formulated for clean-up Base and Alkaline Spills. TEAL-SORB BS is a unique, engineered mineral formulated to absorb and neutralize all basic and alkaline spills. Unlike clay, cellulose, peat, cotton lint/ fibers, and other agricultural based solutions, TEAL-SORB BS Base Neutralizing Powder is designed to bring the alkaline into its structure and neutralize it at the same time. The alkaline is then captured, leaving behind a residue free surface and a manageable clump of absorbed material. A color indicator further contributes to the clean-up efforts, as Teal-Sorb BS turns from purple to white during the neutralization process, giving response crews a visible sense of security. Of particular interest is the lightweight and ultra absorbency characteristics of TEAL-SORB BS. With an average weight of 12 pounds per 5-gallon bag (approximately 0.80 cubic feet), TEAL-SORB BS is able to absorb up to 3 times its own weight in liquid.

On-Line Video: Teal-Sorb Video TEAL-SORB BS (Alkaline/Base Neutralizing) Usage Instructions: TEAL-SORB BS is best applied to a spill by opening the container on or near the ground next to the spill. With a stiff bristle brush or broom, push TEAL-SORB BS into the spill. Brush back and forth over the spill in a circular motion until the spill is removed. Should more alkaline or residue be present, simply add more TEAL-SORB BS to the area and repeat the process. Should TEAL-SORB BS not turn light pink or white during the basic neutralization process, more product should also be added. When handling absorbed bases or alkaline spills, caution must still be exercised, as neutralized product could still present a health risk to spill responders. Absorbed Bases or alkaline materials must then be disposed of according to local, state, federal, and international regulations and guidelines. Due to the lightweight nature of TEAL-SORB BS, the product should be applied close to the ground and the source of the spill in extreme wind conditions. *Never absorb Hydrofluoric Acid with any TEAL-SORB product.
